Stepping Into Fields of Joy: Jupiter in Taurus
Dear Reader,
I’m writing to you from my kitchen table, the sweet subtle scent of flowers from my mom’s garden in my nose. They make me feel calm, content, and cheerful.
What smells and sights in your surroundings are you delighting in, and how do they make you feel?
Jupiter in Taurus May 2023 – May 2024
While the Sun left Taurus and entered Gemini on May 21, signifying the shift from spring to summer in the Northern Hemisphere, Taurus energy will be strong for all of us for the next twelve months. That’s because Jupiter, planet of growth and expansion, moved into Taurus on May 16 and will remain there until May 26, 2024. So, for the next year, Jupiter is going to amplify all things Taurus!
Jupiter is the principle of grandness and growth; the impulse to increase, enlarge, extend, broaden, cohere, elevate, uplift, affirm, enrich, inspire, and improve; our capacity for trust, truth, faith, generosity, wisdom, enthusiasm, and joy.
With Jupiter in Taurus, a fixed earth sign and the nighttime temple of Venus, we grow in a way that’s slow, steady, and sensible, moving forward step by step; we reach for what feels good in our bodies, explore sensuous pleasure, and expand our palate; we find joy in simple pleasures and meaning in nature; our lives flow more easily when we allow ourselves to be where we are, present with all that is, embodied, sensual, of the Earth.
Jupiter in Taurus inspires us to come into our bodies and into the moment; to appreciate the beauty and bounty of nature and everything that we receive from the Earth; to honor the law of reciprocity and give back to the Earth. More than anything else, I see Jupiter’s transit through Taurus as an opportunity to learn from, respect, honor, show reverence for, and come into right relationship with the Earth during a time of great change.
Jupiter in Taurus asks:
What is opening up for you?
Where are you wanting to grow?
What are you enjoying that’s already here?

How may you nourish and strengthen the Earth?

What Jupiter in Taurus means for YOU:

The house activated by Jupiter in Taurus reveals the areas of life where you’re being called to envision a better life, reflect on your values and what guides you, give thanks, move towards what feels good, find balance between rest and activity, build confidence through repetition, and exercise a little care when it comes to what you’re taking in and how much.
Another way to learn about this part of your chart is to look back at previous Jupiter in Taurus periods and take note of what you recall. What were those periods about? Since Jupiter is returning to the same place in your chart, it’s likely going to bring up similar themes for you.
What are you noticing?
In my own life, I noticed that within one week of Jupiter’s entrance into Taurus, I started wearing my new super comfortable linen pants, blessing my food, repotting my plants, and reading a dissertation about Kogi eco-politics that had been sitting on my desktop for three years. (If you haven’t already, I highly recommend watching the Kogi documentary Aluna, which you can find on Youtube.) I also brought home my first little harvest from my mom’s garden, which is something that makes me feel abundant and blessed every time.
